The tools to run a community well
You decide who gets in, what they can do, what you ask them, and how you see what is happening. None of this is “all or nothing” — you set it group by group, and you can change your mind.
Built for people who look after a room, not only for engineers
A community this size needs more than a “make me an admin” switch. There is the network (the whole site) and there are groups (the rooms inside it). You can give someone the keys to one room without giving them the keys to the building.
What follows is what those keys actually open. The names in the product are a little more formal. The jobs are the same.

Passwords and two-step sign-in
A password on this community must be at least eight characters, with at least one uppercase letter and one number. That is checked when someone sets or changes it. People can also sign in with a one-time link sent to their email, so they are not forced to invent yet another password if they would rather not.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Questions people who run communities ask
Can I give someone a group without making them a site admin?
Yes. That is the point of splitting network rights from group rights. A group owner can approve members, moderate that room, and run its surveys without seeing every other group’s data.
Do I have to use join questions?
No. Use them when a room needs a gate. Leave them off when a group should be easy to walk into. You can add a code of conduct even when joining is otherwise simple.
Is MFA optional for members?
You choose. People can turn it on for themselves. You can also require it for selected groups — for example everyone with admin rights, or every member. On this community both an authenticator app and an email code are available.
Where do I see survey results?
On that form’s dashboard, under Thiscovery Forms. Export a spreadsheet when you need to work in another tool. Incomplete and test answers are labelled so they do not inflate the story.
