In this Space
Whiteboards let you create and share Excalidraw drawings in this Space — for diagrams, brainstorming, planning, and visual notes.
Getting started
- Click Create whiteboard and give it a name.
- Choose Shared (members can edit) or Read only (members can view only).
- Click Create and open, draw on the canvas, then click Save.
- Changes are not saved automatically — always click Save before you leave.
Shared vs read only
- Shared — members with edit permission can draw and save. Take turns saving so everyone sees the latest version.
- Read only — only the creator, admins, and moderators can edit. Other members can view the board.
Who can do what
- Create boards — members with Create whiteboards permission.
- Edit drawings — on shared boards, members with Edit whiteboards permission.
- Change settings or delete — the creator, or Space admins and moderators.
If you cannot create or edit a board, ask a Space admin to check your permissions.

- Command palette — press Ctrl+/ (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+/ (Mac) to find tools and actions quickly.
- Libraries — click Library (top right) to add ready-made icons and diagrams.
- Export — use the menu inside the editor to export as PNG or SVG if you need a copy outside HumHub.
Working together in HumHub: this is not live screen-sharing. Open the same board in this Space, edit, and click Save so others see your changes when they open or refresh the board.
